Southbroom is a suburb consisting of private homes and therefore never has that busy overcrowded feeling. There are great walks through lanes with beautiful shrubbery and wild flowers.

350m away is a stunning long expanse of pristine uncrowded beach and a little further on is a large kiddies tidal pool, with clean well maintained toilets on the edge of beach. Great surfing and fishing can be found right along the Southbroom coastline, with the main beach (with an adjoining large lagoon) providing life-guard supervision.

Southbroom village offers restaurants, Kwikspar, a laundromat, hair and beauty salons, coffee shop, bottle store, boutique and decor shop and a hardware shop.
